Things go pretty well for the H-Town Hottie, Megan Thee Stallion. While balancing her busy class schedule at Texas Southern University, she also works with her new label 1501 certified to bring new music and give her fans a chance to get to know her new alter ego, Tina Snow.

Like many of us HBCU students, Megan grew up on movies like Drum Line and Stomp the Yard. She attributes much of her decision to attend an HBCU to the hype she witnessed surrounding these iconic black blockbuster flicks. The MC started her college career following in her family’s footsteps at Prairie View A&M and quickly grew into campus life joining different organizations and clubs like the Panther Dolls, Prairie View’s dance team. However, she quickly recognized her talents on the mic after one of her freestyles went viral and realized she needed to transfer schools to get more work done.

“When I first got to prairie View summer program, I was there the whole summer. I got to know my best friends like that and moved in next door to each other and they became super close that way. “

From there, her career quickly picked up. Through her insanely popping social media presence, she was able to climb in popularity with her viral videos and hot freestyles. Megan thee stallion says she makes music for everybody and “anybody who feels like sh**tin on b*tches today.” Unlike the laid back persona of her aquarius personality, her music is dramatically different. She broadcasts herself as the baddest in the game and uplifts her audience with those same lyrics.

She dropped her first full project, Make It Hot, last September. Her most recent EP, Tina Snow, just released in June of 2018. The rapper also revealed in one of her interviews with The Source that her music career has also been passed down to her. Her mother and now manager was also a tough female mc out of Texas. The big difference between the power team, Megan says, “she’s more of a gangster, I’m a lover.”

For those who have been a keen fan of the Texas rapper’s discography, you might have noticed a change in her cadence. Her new project features a deeper voice to fit the new character Megan Thee Stallion created. Loosely based off one of her major inspirations Pimp C’s, Tony Snow, Tina Snow has a deeper, much harder voice to her delivery. Her newest single and music video for her track “Freak Nasty” (which also happens to be her mom’s favorite track off the new album) is available for streaming online now.
