The programming department encompasses the on-air personalities as well as the music, news, and production aspect of WHBC. Each person involved in programming is responsible for the quality of our product to make sure the content is right and sounds to the professional standards that are expected.

Programming Director: Chanique Rochester

Chanique Rochester is a junior, originally born in Kingston, Jamaica and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Chanique has been involved with WHBC since her freshman year at Howard University, and serves as the Programming Director for the 2016-2017 academic school year. She majors in Broadcast Journalism and holds a 3.63 GPA, which has earened her a spot in the School of Communications’ Annenberg Honors Program. In addition, she is a member of the Caribbean Student Association where she promotes cultural unity, tolerance and acceptance. This year, Chanique aims to extend her journalism experience to her programming team in order to provide them with a wholesome, hands-on, radio education. She will offer academic and co-curricular support to her team, and continuously remind them of their value and contribution to the programing department. She holds commitment to service and the search for truth in the highest regard.

Assistant Programming Director: Najee Prophete

Najee Prophete is a Junior Media Management major,  Economics minor from Queens, New York. While being well known for her outspoken personality, most people do not know she has a passion for fashion. Najee has been apart of the WHBC family since her freshman year when she joined the promotions department as a volunteer. WHBC was the first and only club Najee devoted her time towards, until becoming Miss CHN the spring 2015 semester, joining the New Yorkers Club, and the Green Team on campus. In the future she plans on having her hands in various different projects that connect to fashion, the entertainment industry, and radio. As the Assistant programming Director Najee has high hopes for the Programming department, and has no doubt that WHBC will sound better than ever in no time.
